Japan Washi Photo Association


Photographer Nobuaki Tanaka, chairman of the Japan Washi Photography Association, participated in International councilof museums ICOM held in Kyoto in 2019.

He exhibited his folding screen works of giant Japanese paper photographs of naked people in art galleries and museums in 150 countries.

The following year, in 2020, the Japan Washi Photo Association was established by several photographers and secretariat staff, including vice president Shigeto Ogawa.

In recognition of their international cultural exchange with ICOM-affiliated museums in Russia, Nobuaki Tanaka and his wife Yuma Masuzono became individual members of ICOM in the same year.

Since its establishment, the Japan Washi Photography Association has steadily developed every year through many twists and turns.
