Sep. 2019

  • Nobuaki Tanaka Photography Office exhibited at ICOM Kyoto 2019.WASHIPHOTO works by Nobuaki Tanaka and participants of the photography course led by Nobuaki Tanaka will be exhibited.

  • The Orenburg Regional Museum of Fine Arts in Russia, which was impressed by the WASHIPHOTO, proposed to hold an exhibition of Japanese Washi photographs.

Oct. 2019

  • The preparatory office of the Japan WashiPhoto Association is established. Began accepting applications to participate in the Japan Washi Photo Exhibition.

Jan. 2020

  • Establishment of the Japan WashiPhoto Association secretariat and official website.

Jun. 2020

  • The Japan WashiPhoto Association is recommended by the Japan Museums Association and approved as a member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), headquartered in Paris.

  • Nobuaki Tanaka, President of the Association, applies for membership in ICOM, and is a member of the International Committee of Museums of the ICFA.

Jul. 2020

  • Six face-to-face events for members were held in Kansai and Kanto.

Aug. 2020

  • Six members, Yuma Masuzono, Yuki Katsunuma, Yuko Hidaka, Katsuyuki Miyabe, Tetsuya Maruta, and Shigeto Ogawa, were approved for membership in ICOM.

  • The application process for the "Japan Washigraph Exhibition" was confirmed in writing with the Orenburg Regional Museum of Fine Arts in Russia.

Sep. 2020

  • Organized an event for members of the Japan WashiPhoto Association at the Awa Washi Traditional Industry Hall (Awagami Factory) in Tokushima. Mr. Katsuyuki Miyabe, a filmmaker and member of the association, recorded a video clip of traditional Japanese paper culture and an introduction to the members.

  • Participated in a symposium at the Kyoto National Museum to commemorate the first anniversary of the ICOM Kyoto Conference, entitled "SDGs and Museums".

  • We confirmed that our Washi photography efforts fall under the SDGs.

  • A black background photograph of plants by Setsuko Sunada, a member of ICOM, was used as a teaching material for the Department of Design at Tokyo Zokei University .

  • Launched a Facebook page for information on the Japan Washi Photo Association and an Instagram page for members' photos.

  • The Steering Committee is established.

Oct. 2020

  • Applied to the Ministry of Justice of Russia for a travel invitation visa to participate in the "Japan Washigraph Exhibition".

Nov. 2020

  • Japan Washigraph Exhibition" scheduled to be held at Corona Peril from December 18 to January 17 was postponed.

  • Several members of the Japan WashiPhoto Association were additionally approved for membership in ICOM.

  • The "Japan Washigraph Exhibition" is rescheduled for July/August.

  • Online coaching will be held regularly for members.

Feb. 2021

  • Acquired the clubhouse domain name. Takamasa Kaneko took charge as host. Started a talk show open to the public.
